Our story
Life & Family Pregnancy Center (VIFAC Brownsville) has a heartwarming history rooted in supporting women in need. Originating from VIFAC Mexico, a non-profit founded in 1985, it was created to help pregnant women in difficult situations. Over the years, VIFAC has been a beacon of hope in various Mexican cities.
In 2018, VIFAC expanded to Brownsville, Texas, initially operating from an old school building on Jefferson St. Since then, Life & Family Pregnancy Center has supported over 300 women, offering vital assistance during and after their pregnancies. The center operates independently with its own funding and a dedicated local Board of Directors, ensuring all services are free and tailored to the women's needs.
In 2023, the center moved to a welcoming house at 504 E. Levee St., thanks to a local family's generosity. This new location continues the mission of providing a safe and supportive environment for women facing unexpected pregnancies and financial struggles, creating a caring community dedicated to their well-being and success.

I found out about the pregnancy center through a cousin.
What I like most about here is the treatment I have received from the staff who are always attentive and trying to find a solution or resource to help you.
I have learned to make desserts, crafts, and also to be more patient with my little daughters. Thanks to the classes and counseling sessions taught here.

I learned about the pregnancy center through some friends and since I arrived here it has been a great blessing, since they have helped me with my pregnancy, on how to enjoy this beautiful stage of my life. The counseling sessions and nutrition classes have also helped me a lot.
I have learned how to take care of the baby during its growth in my womb, and how to become a better person as a mother. Spiritually, they have helped me get closer to God and keep him present in my life

I am Venezuelan, a few hours after arriving in the United States my baby was born and when I arrived at the migrant shelter, the pregnancy center staff were the first to visit me and they gave me many things for my baby. I am one of many beneficiaries who attend the center and I am very grateful.
I love the team they make because we have counseling support, which is very important at that stage, we always feel welcome, it is a voice of encouragement that they give us and they always help us with all our needs, with that unconditional support. The classes and crafts they give us are very excellent.
They make us feel that we are not alone because they are always there for us.
Thank you to the Life & Family Pregnancy Center team for existing.
