Our story

Life & Family Pregnancy Center has a heartwarming history rooted in supporting women in need. Since opening its doors in 2018 in Brownsville, Texas, the center has been dedicated to helping women facing unexpected or challenging pregnancies by offering compassionate, free, and confidential support.

The center began in a small classroom of an old school building on Jefferson Street, where staff and volunteers welcomed women seeking guidance, resources, and hope. Over the years, Life & Family Pregnancy Center has accompanied more than 500 women, providing essential services during and after their pregnancies. The organization operates independently with its own funding and a committed local Board of Directors, ensuring that all programs are tailored to the needs of the families it serves.

In 2023, the center moved to a welcoming house at 504 E. Levee Street, thanks to the generosity of a local family. This new location continues the mission of offering a safe, supportive environment for women experiencing financial hardship or uncertainty about their pregnancy. Today, Life & Family Pregnancy Center remains a caring community dedicated to empowering women, strengthening families, and celebrating the preciousness of every life.

I found out about the pregnancy center through a cousin. What I like most about here is the treatment I have received from the staff who are always attentive and trying to find a solution or resource to help you. I have learned to make desserts, crafts, and also to be more patient with my little daughters. Thanks to the classes and counseling sessions taught here.

I am Venezuelan, a few hours after arriving in the United States my baby was born and when I arrived at the migrant shelter, the pregnancy center staff were the first to visit me and they gave me many things for my baby. I am one of many beneficiaries who attend the center and I am very grateful. I love the team they make because we have counseling support, which is very important at that stage, we always feel welcome, it is a voice of encouragement that they give us and they always help us with all our needs, with that unconditional support.
